October 2018 Thunderword

First, I hope everyone has “weathered” Hurricane Florence safely! With hurricane season still here, hopefully everyone makes it through with minimal impact.

This Auto Show season has certainly been a “bust” due to the wet, humid conditions in our area. We did luck out and have a good day for our show, but many of the shows were not as lucky.

While October should bring drier weather, the last big show is typically the North Catasauqua show. The flyer is in this newsletter, so plan on coming out to it. Look for where we will meet at and let’s all try to get there for a good club showing.

Happy May Fellow Club Members!
Well, Spring has sprung and it is time to shake off the cobwebs and get the Thunderbird out! Car shows are starting and there is no sense in belonging to the club if you are not getting the car out and showing it about the Lehigh Valley Area. Just get out of your chair, get in the Thunderbird and drive like you stole it.

Happy March Fellow Club Members,
Finally, Spring is within our grasp and this cold, snowy winter will be in the past! The first day of Spring is Tuesday, March 20th, followed by our club’s first car display, at the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Show, on Saturday, March 24th. Once again we have been asked to bring about 14 to 20 vehicles to display from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Stabler Arena. As usual, we will be parked on the walkway area across from the large TV and I am hoping that Fiat USA has updated their commercials! Please let me know if you can attend. This event goes a long way to promote our club in the Lehigh Valley.

BRRRRRRR Fellow Club Members,
While it is staying lighter longer each day, Old Man Winter is definitely showing off! The Club Board elected to cancel the January Meeting due the very frigid temperatures, high winds and poor road conditions. Yes, I know, some of you walked to school in 8 feet of snow in zero degrees, barefoot. But really, today we have heat, cars and much higher accident rates, so we elected to stay home and watch some “Elvira movies”! At least that is what Walt was doing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a great Holiday! And you managed with the snow and cold weather ok.

Yes, 2018 is here and it promises to be a good year. Our economy is doing well, there is less dribble of nuclear war with North Korea and the weather forecast a cool but sunny win-ter for the Northeast! Maybe we should think about a “Winter Car Show”!

I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving and you have all survived the “Black Friday” ad bombardment!

Since there are so few Thunderbird Activities anywhere in our area, we included some extra activities to do in this news letter, like word searches, coloring and even baking! If you forgot some of the basics about storing your T-Bird for the winter, we even included that too!
